The Importance of Pre-School Programs

There is more happening in preschool programs than  you may think! Finger painting, singing, music, movement,

puppets, games and crafts are just a

few of the types of activities you will

see introduced through the Glastonbury

Parks and Recreation Department's

program offerings.

"Research shows that children enrolled in

good preschool programs tend to have a positive transition into kindergarten,

are more successful in later school

years and show higher verbal and

intellectual development than children who do not attend high quality programs.

These children demonstrate high levels of social competence - self-esteem, social behavior, and motivation - a critical predicator of adult adaptation."

"High quality preschool programs make important contributions to our community

by nurturing the unique strengths of each child thereby allowing children to reach

their full potential."

Choose a Program and enroll today.

Make sure to carefully read through the specific age requirements for each

individual program!
