Child/Adult Fun Runs
(All Ages)
Grab your sneaks and run some extra miles
this summer. Children jog for one mile around Glastonbury High
School grounds. Adult courses are 2.4 and 3.5 miles in length.
Register at the Glastonbury High School starting at 6:30 for a
6:50 start. Divisions include male and female 35 & up,
19 - 34, 15-18, 13-14, 10-12, 7-9, and 6 & under. Tuesday
evenings, June 24; July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
and August 5, 12. No fee.
Kidding Around the Center
(All Ages)
This July, Town Center Initiatives and Parks and Recreation will
again be presenting a series of children's events on the Town
Center "fountain" green on Tuesdays July 8, 15,and 22, from 6-8
PM (Rain dates the following Thursday). A host of activities
geared for children and their families will be featured. "Fish"
in the fountain, watch a magic show, participate in craft
activities, get your face painted and take part in a variety of
games, all free of charge. In addition, see some of our youth
talent from within the Glastonbury community including youth
musicians and dance performances.
Pooch Pageant
(All Ages)
Calling all kids and their canines. Can your dog balance a
biscuit on his nose? Is she the smallest dog in town? Show off
your pooch in a spirited show at the Hubbard Green on Monday,
July 7 at 6:00 p.m. (Rain date: Tuesday, July 8). Choose two
out of the following six categories: best behaved, best trick,
smallest, largest, best looking, and best costume.
Pre-registration is required by calling 652-7679 by Thursday,
July 3. Free
Summer Music Series (Summer “Best Bet”)
(All Ages)
Relax with family and friends on warm summer evenings with
entertaining music. A series of free, outdoor concerts on
Wednesday evenings July 2, 9, 16, and 23 beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Performances will be published in the Glastonbury Citizen and
Hartford Courant at a later date.
Town Band Concerts
(All Ages)
Sit back and relax with family and friends while enjoying the
sounds of music. Sunday concerts begin at 7 p.m. at the Hubbard
Green on June 29, July 13, 20 and 27. Free.
Calling all musicians in grades 9 through adult. New band
members are always welcome. Come to rehearsal ready to play on
Wednesdays, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on June 18, 25, July 2, 9, 16, 23
and 30. Rehearsals will be held at the Smith Middle School Band
Room.
Town-Wide Community Tag Sale
Opens to the Public at 8:00 a.m.

It’s been collecting in your attic, your basement, and your
garage. Your children are in high school and you still have
clothes from when they were 5! The idea of having a Tag Sale at
your house is just too daunting...the signs, the promotion, the
space! If you want to free your house of all those unused items
you’ve been storing and let us do all the promotion for
you...then we’ve got a solution for you! Join us for our 2nd
Annual Town-Wide Tag Sale. Purchase a 10’x10’ space and bring
all of your items to sell. You must provide your own tables and
anything you will need to display your wares. The Town of
Glastonbury will also be selling bikes, tools, furniture and
other miscellaneous items. Based on order of registration, you
will be contacted and asked to choose a space assignment. We
reserve the right to assign a space to you in the event you
cannot be reached. Please note that spaces fill up quickly!
