Summer Softball

 

Interested in playing Softball in an

organized league? Every summer season,

the Glastonbury Parks and Recreation

Department offers an organized softball league. Games are played throughout the week against other teams in the league. Opportunities exist to include your entire team or to sign up as an individual player. Contact the Glastonbury Parks and Recreation Department at 652.7679.

 

 

 

 

Annual Senior Citizens’ Indoor Picnic

(Age 55 and Over)

Enjoy entertainment, Bocce, Setback, Horseshoes, and Croquet followed by finger licking good barbecue chicken with all the fixin’s for lunch all in the comfort of air conditioning! End the day with bingo for all featuring some great prizes! Tickets will be sold Tuesday, July 1-Tuesday, August 5 at the Community Center, Parks and Recreation and Town Hall Information Center. Tickets will also be sold the day of the picnic. Glastonbury residents only!

Open Gym

(18 and up and out of High School)

Activities include basketball and volleyball.  NOTE: You cannot register for passes on-line.

 

Fitness Programs

Minnechaug Golf Club

Minnechaug Golf Club, 16 Fairway Crossing, is reopening for the spring on March 21st, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. It offers a 9 hole course with openings for those who wish to join the men’s club, women’s club or businesses who wish to establish a league.  Junior and adult golf clinics available in the summer. Call the pro shop at (860) 643-9914 for additional information.

 

Summer Men’s Basketball League

(Glastonbury Residents, ages 18 to 30) 

Players are placed on teams by the league coordinator.  Requests by players can be made to be placed on the same team of friends, but are not guaranteed.  League play starts in late June and ends in mid August. Fee is $60/player and includes an 8 game schedule, playoffs and t-shirt.  Special registration procedures are required - you may not register using this brochure. Firewood Program

(Glastonbury Residents) 

Cut and split seasoned hardwood (approximately 16” in length) in 1/8th cord lots is available to residents only for $20. The wood is recycled from tree work done along town roads and on public lands. Whether you’re just looking for enough for a few cozy fires or you’re looking to supplement other sources for home heating, the program may be right for you. Just add you name to the list, and we’ll call when we have an order ready to be picked up. Wood can be picked up Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at the Glastonbury Parks and Recreation Office, 1086 New London Turnpike. There is no fee to add you r name to the list as the fee is not payable until the time of pick up.
